(1828–1891) — physician, Freemason, Hebraist, and the third of the Order's founding chiefs; Supreme Magus of the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia, the Masonic-Rosicrucian body out of which the Golden Dawn's founders all came.

He was reportedly the best Hebrew scholar of the three, and he died in 1891, early enough to leave almost no mark on the Order's development. He is worth a node anyway: the one founder with real Hebrew died before the system was finished, and what came after was assembled largely by men working from Latin and from tables.
