✦ the hidden tzaddikim

✦ the hidden tzaddikim — a formation story of the BAAL SHEM TOV: how a boy raised by a town no one was quite responsible for came to be trained among the NISTARIM, the hidden righteous. TEN SCENES, ALL 2D/SVG, NO 3D — the same standing rule besht-tale.js's own header states, applied from the start rather than removed later. FIVE SCENES OF FORMATION: an orphan told by his dying father that someone is always walking beside him; a stranger praying alone in a forest clearing; three years of small towns and borrowed names; a tar-gatherer's hut whose owner turns out to know Gemara cold; and the Talmudic doctrine itself (Sanhedrin 97b, also Sukkah 45b) — no fewer than thirty-six hidden righteous in every generation, and the rule that naming yourself as one disqualifies you. THE KABBALISTIC POINT, STATED PLAINLY: this is MALCHUT, the Shekhinah that dwells rather than blazes, clothed in the most ordinary hands rather than announced in glory — concealment is not the absence of holiness, it is one particular way of holding it. A READINGS SCENE lists three unranked readings (literal/biographical, ethical, mystical). ⭐⭐ A NEW SCENE SHAPE NOT IN besht-tale.js: STILL LISTENING, a rail of real outward links to where others are still teaching this story — three videos, an essay, a long-form piece — and an honest note that no niggun or artwork credit could be verified, so none is invented. ⭐⭐⭐ A DEDICATED, TIERED SOURCES SCENE: Sanhedrin 97b as solid Talmudic ground; the Besht's training among the nistarim as a relayed Chabad tradition (cited); the specific forest-hut/tar-gathering texture traced explicitly to Chitrik's 20th-century Reshimot Devareem, NOT to the primary 1815 Shivchei ha-Besht — with a live link to read that earliest layer on Sefaria and judge for yourself. The room adds one new node to ⚉ Wing M's own atlas, h-nistarim, linked both ways with the Besht's own node. Reference only; nothing here is scored.
