עוקר the boy who gave over the whole siddur

עוקר the boy who gave over the whole siddur — a tale told of the BAAL SHEM TOV, first printed a century after his death (Sefer Kehal Hasidim he-hadash, Lemberg 1905 — NOT in Shivchei ha-Besht, 1814). NINE SCENES, ALL 2D/SVG — ⚠⚠ the first build used a THREE.js 3D stage; Jonathan opened it and said plainly he learned nothing from it that a caption did not already say, so it was REMOVED, not patched, in favour of small illustrations that each carry information of their own. OPENS ON A DIAGRAM: Jacob’s ladder, drawn two ways credited to the Besht — as a PERSON (feet in the physical world, head reaching heaven — Toldot Yaakov Yosef / Keter Shem Tov) and as the FOUR WORLDS of the prayer service (Assiyah→Yetzirah→Beriah→Atzilut, the Arizal’s architecture) — and every rung is CLICKABLE for one more sentence about it. An orphaned boy raised without Hebrew opens his dead mother’s siddur on Yom Kippur and cannot read a word of it — “I do not know what to pray or how to pray. Here, G-d, I give You the whole siddur” — and every scene states its KABBALISTIC POINT outright, labelled. THE PIVOT SCENE’S ILLUSTRATION IS THE INTERACTION: choosing which telling (sealed book, alphabet, or a forbidden shepherd’s flute) actually SWAPS the icon to that version’s real object, so the picture IS the textual variant rather than decoration beside it — and the room holds at least two tellings side by side rather than picking a winner. THE LADDER RETURNS, COMPRESSED, at the payoff, with the room’s own labelled reading: the boy has no access to a single rung, and his offering was received above the room’s rung-by-rung climb — not a faster climb, no climb at all. A READINGS SCENE lists three named, unranked commentaries (this room’s own Kabbalistic reading; Dr. Menachem Katz’s textual history of the tale’s print sources; Rabbi Shai Steinmetz’s ethical reading), and ⭐⭐ A DEDICATED SOURCES SCENE lists every primary and secondary source used, several with live links — the standing convention this app now keeps for every new wing. Reference only; nothing here is scored.

Tehiru is a walk-in model of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and its kindred ways — built to be explored, not read. This page is a still frame of one node; the app is where it moves.
