◐ the cave and the sun
the cave and the sun — Plato's Republic VII as a walk-in journey: begin chained before the shadow-wall with your brothers, wager on the prisoners' game, loose the chains, turn the whole soul around (periagoge), climb the rough road, let the eyes settle in Plato's own order (shadows → reflections → things → night sky → the sun), look on the Good 'beyond being' — the sentence Plotinus built the One on, the headwater of this whole bench — then go back down to the ones still chained. Ends with a hand reached out, not the Republic's killing; the divided line tracks your place in the story.
