⌇ the lens and the funnel

⌇ the lens and the funnel — COME AND SEE, COME AND HEAR, and the room where this app finally makes a sound on purpose. ⚠ NOTHING PLAYS UNTIL YOU PRESS SOMETHING: no autoplay, no hover-sound, no microphone ever, and a mute on every screen. FIVE MODELS. ◈ THE SOUND THAT WAS LOST: the mitzvah is lishmoa kol shofar — to HEAR it, not to blow it — and then the difficulty, because the Torah says make a teruah and never says what a teruah is. Hear the two candidates, pick the one you think it means, and then hear what the law actually does: R. Abahu ruled NOT TO CHOOSE and to blow all three combinations (Rosh Hashanah 34a), so that every Rosh Hashanah since, a congregation hears a preserved uncertainty, performed. ⚠ And the doubt is bounded — crying goes from sob to wail and not the reverse, so one order is excluded. ⏠ THE FUNNEL: Chagigah 3b tells a student swamped by masters who contradict each other to make his ear like a hopper (afarkeset) and take it all in, because both are the words of the living God — so widen the funnel and hear the second opinion come back, as an interval that refuses to settle. ☉ THE LENS: Yevamot 49b grades prophecy by OPTICAL QUALITY — all the prophets saw through a clouded aspaklaria, Moses through a clear one — so drag from clouded to clear and watch a blur and hear a muffle do the same thing to the same signal. This screen is an aspaklaria in the literal sense, and it is the clouded one. ⚡ THE CROSSING: Exodus 20:15 says the people SAW the voices. Pick a vowel and dial how much of it arrives as sound and how much as shape — then throw the counter-verse, Deuteronomy 4:12, which says they saw no form at all, and watch the picture switch off. Two verses, one Torah, one event, flatly opposed, both kept. ⌇ THE STRING: Ben Azzai sat expounding with fire around him, and when Akiva asked if he had been in the chambers of the Chariot he said no — he had been STRINGING verses, Torah to Prophets to Writings, like beads on a cord. The heat is in the CROSS-REFERENCE, not the ascent, which is what this whole app is made of. Pick two words and hear them strung: equal gematria lands on the same note, so shared weight is an audible UNISON. Then hear a word as a path through the mouth, back to front, and the whole alphabet opening from throat to lips. ⚠⚠ The pitch mappings are OURS and are not doctrine — no source assigns a frequency to a letter or a number. Reference only; nothing here is a rite.

Tehiru is a walk-in model of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and its kindred ways — built to be explored, not read. This page is a still frame of one node; the app is where it moves.
