THE ATLAS OF THE ORDER THAT TOOK
Moina Mathers
Moina
nature
Artist, the Order's first initiate, Mathers' wife and working partner, and the sister of the philosopher Henri Bergson. She painted the temple furniture and the godform designs, and acted as the seer through whom much of the Second Order material was said to be received.
The Order's visual language is substantially hers, and the "reception" of its higher teaching ran through her clairvoyance. Written out of most accounts; a major node here.
rhymes with
sephirahbinah
whyBinah as the receptive, form-giving mother — which is, uncomfortably, both a genuine description of her role and the box the era put her in.
