THE ATLAS OF THE ORDER THAT TOOK

Pamela Colman Smith

Colman Smith
nature
Artist, theatre designer, folklorist, Golden Dawn initiate in her own right, and a synaesthete who painted what she heard in music. Born in London to American parents and raised partly in Jamaica.

She drew the most reproduced esoteric images on earth — and the innovation that made the deck work, illustrating the minor arcana as full scenes rather than pips, was hers. She was paid a flat fee and very largely forgotten. This app calls the deck Rider-Waite-Smith.

Tehiru is a walk-in model of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and its kindred ways — built to be explored, not read. This page is a still frame of one node; the app is where it moves.
