THE ATLAS OF THE ALIEN SPARK

Tertullian

Tertullian
nature
The first great Latin Christian writer, a lawyer's mind with a satirist's tongue, and the author of Against Marcion in five books. He is the source of the report that Valentinus was passed over for a bishopric, and of the most quotable insults in the whole controversy.

He supplies the social history the doctrinal sources leave out — who was competing with whom, for what, and how it felt to lose.
What indeed has Athens to do with Jerusalem?
