1773 — Pistis Sophia surfaces in London

The Askew Codex is bought by the British Museum. For the next 170 years it and a few other manuscripts are essentially the only Gnostic texts available in the original.

A useful correction to the idea that everything appeared in 1945. Some of it had been sitting in London, largely untranslated, for a century and a half.
