THE ATLAS OF THE MOVEMENT THAT MOVED THE ADDRESS

⚠ The office becomes hereditary

the dynasty
nature
By the third generation the position of rebbe is passing from father to son, and by the nineteenth century the map of Eastern European Jewry is a map of courts — Ger, Belz, Sanz, Vizhnitz, Satmar, Bobov, Skver — each named for a town and each led by a family.

⚠⚠ No early Hasidic source requires this, and it is the clearest gap in the wing between theory and institution. The tzaddik doctrine is about a person's attainment; hereditary succession is about their father. ⭐ The movement is not unaware of the tension — the succession disputes are ferocious and several courts split permanently over them — but it has never resolved it, and Breslov's refusal is the only structural answer anyone gave.

whyMalkhut is the world as it actually organises itself, which is rarely as the theory said it would.
