THE ATLAS OF THE MOVEMENT THAT MOVED THE ADDRESS

ממלא וסובב · Filling all worlds, surrounding all worlds

memale & sovev
nature
Two modes of divine presence, and Chabad leans on the distinction constantly. Memale kol almin — the light that fills all worlds, measured to each vessel, which is why a stone is a stone and an angel is an angel. Sovev kol almin — the light that surrounds all worlds, unmeasured, in which no distinction between a stone and an angel exists at all.

⭐⭐ It is a device for holding two incompatible truths without choosing. From inside the world, differences are real and the commandments matter. From the surrounding light, there is nothing but God and the differences are not there. ⚠ Chabad does not resolve this and does not want to: the entire practice is the labour of holding both, which is exactly what the beinoni is described as doing all day.

sephirahbinah
whyBinah is where an undifferentiated light becomes measured and distinguishable — which is the whole content of the distinction.
