Poimandres (CH I)

The first treatise and the tradition's founding vision. A being of immense size appears and names itself the Mind of Sovereignty; light and darkness separate; a divine Man falls in love with his own reflection in nature and descends into it, and so becomes double — deathless in essence and mortal in body.

The single most Kabbalah-adjacent text on the forebears' bench: an Adam of light who descends and gets caught in what he made, and a return route home. Set it beside Adam Kadmon and the fallen sparks and the shapes rhyme hard — with no contact, and no descent in either direction.
