THE ATLAS OF THE INMOST SELF

Karma, saṃsāra, mokṣa

karma & release
nature
Action leaves traces; traces bear fruit; fruit requires a further life to ripen in; and the round of that is saṃsāra. Release — mokṣa — is not a better rebirth but the ending of the requirement.

Judaism has gilgul, and the app has a whole hall for it — but the accent is different in a way that matters. Gilgul is a repair-mechanism inside a covenant with a history and an end; saṃsāra is a condition to be exited. One tradition is trying to finish a story; the other is trying to get out of a loop.
