THE ATLAS OF THE INMOST SELF

⚠ Three answers about what you are

☸ Buddhism: look for the self and you will not find one — five heaps around a hollow. ॐ Vedānta: look and you will find it, and it turns out to be the absolute — tat tvam asi. The Kabbalah: the soul is real, it is a portion of God from above, and it is not God — a lamp lit from a fire is not the fire, and the distinction is what makes love, commandment and address possible at all.

Read this node against the ⇲ align dial — it fights, and the fight is the reading. These are not three phrasings. They are three incompatible positions, arrived at by traditions that mostly did not consult each other, and the app declines to harmonise them. And the honest note is that ॐ contains the Kabbalah's own answer too: Rāmānuja spent a lifetime arguing, inside these same scriptures, that the self is really distinct and really inseparable. The closest kin the Tree has here is not the famous answer but the dissenting one.

Tehiru is a walk-in model of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and its kindred ways — built to be explored, not read. This page is a still frame of one node; the app is where it moves.
