THE ATLAS OF THE INMOST SELF
Turīya · the fourth
the fourth
nature
Not a fourth state alongside waking, dreaming and dreamless sleep, but the awareness that is present in all three and is not any of them. In the syllable it is the silence after M — which is why the recitation ends with time still running.
The wing makes this literal: the sound stops with time left on the clock, and the remaining seconds are the doctrine. Tehiru already draws exactly one thing this way — the eighth line of the 42-letter Name, which is rendered as silence. Two traditions, both counting carefully, both ending on something they decline to pronounce.
