CARL JUNG AND THE KABBALAH

"He Anticipated My Entire Psychology"

the Maggid quote
nature
Jung's own late-life sentence, reported by Neumann: that Dov Ber, the Maggid of Mezritch — the eighteenth-century Hasidic master who organized the Besht's following into a movement — had anticipated the whole of analytical psychology a century and a half before Jung wrote a word of it.

⭐⭐⭐ THE ONE SENTENCE IN THIS ENTIRE WING WHERE JUNG NAMES A KABBALISTIC SOURCE HIMSELF, UNPROMPTED, RATHER THAN HAVING THE COMPARISON DRAWN FOR HIM BY DROB OR BY THIS APP. Every other parallel here is this wing's own reading, or a later scholar's. This one is Jung's. ⊙ h-maggid, in ✡ Hasidism, is the same Dov Ber — same person, same rung, reached from the opposite direction ninety years and one Atlantic apart.
