CARL JUNG AND THE KABBALAH

The Shadow

the Shadow
nature
The part of the personality the conscious ego has rejected, denied or never developed — not simply "evil," but everything about a person that did not fit the self-image they built. Jung held that the Shadow is not defeated by being suppressed further, only by being met.

⭐⭐ THE WING'S OWN READING, MARKED AS SUCH RATHER THAN AS JUNG'S CLAIM. Lurianic Kabbalah has its own account of what a rejected fragment becomes: the qlippot, the "shells" or "husks" that form around sparks of holiness cut off during the shevirah, the breaking of the vessels — not annihilated, but walled off from the light that made them, and dangerous precisely because they still carry a trace of it. ⚠ Jung never used the word qlippot; this app is drawing the line, not reporting one he drew, and the honest description of the Shadow — split off, not destroyed, and requiring integration rather than exorcism — is close enough to be worth stating plainly and testing rather than hiding.
rhymes with
sephirahgevurah
whyGevurah is severity carried past its measure — the sephirah the qlippot are traditionally read as an excess or a shell of.
