The Teacher(s) — Porsov, and an Unnamed Warsaw Kabbalist

nature
Two different, not obviously reconcilable accounts of who taught Ashlag survive. Bnei Baruch's own biographical tradition names a rebbe of Porsov (Porisov), whose court's melodies Ashlag later adapted into his own niggunim. Wikipedia's account instead describes three months of study, in his youth, under an unidentified Kabbalist merchant in Warsaw who died shortly afterward, leaving the line of transmission otherwise undocumented.

⭐⭐ STATED AS A DISCREPANCY, NOT RESOLVED INTO ONE STORY. Both could be true of different periods — a Hasidic court's musical and devotional formation in youth, and a separate, brief, decisive encounter with a solitary Kabbalist later — but this pack does not smooth two different sourced claims into a single tidy narrative. What is not in dispute is the Porsov court's musical fingerprint: ms-melodies traces specific tunes to it by name.

whyYesod is the passage a thing moves through on its way to becoming visible — appropriate for a transmission this pack can trace the far end of far more clearly than the near end.
