Yamma Ensemble

A contemporary ensemble led by the singer Talya Solan, performing Hebrew and Yemenite-Jewish repertoire on acoustic instruments, with the sung poetry of the Yemenite diwan at the centre.

The place to hear the repertoire above performed rather than described. ⚠ And an honest label, because the wing insists on them: this is a modern concert ensemble making artistic choices, not a field recording. That is not a demotion — it is how almost all of this music now reaches anyone — but a listener should know which one they are hearing.
