Two centuries of state-funded translation under the Abbasids — Greek into Syriac into Arabic, medicine, mathematics, astronomy and philosophy — of which al-Kindī's circle was one part.

The physical means by which antiquity reached the Middle Ages. Anyone who says the Tree is Greek should be made to say it in Arabic first.
