The "is" of predication

"The film is boring." Distinct from identity: it projects a reaction into an object as though the property lived there. The film has no boringness in it; the boredom happened in a viewer, at a time.

The distinction matters practically — this app's E-Prime engine separates the two because they need different repairs.
