Orders of abstraction

The event level (sub-microscopic process) → the object your nervous system constructs → the first verbal label → statements about statements, indefinitely upward. Each level omits what the one below contained.

Gives the corpus its ladder. Most confusion in argument is two people operating at different orders and each assuming the other means their level.
