The Structural Differential

Korzybski's actual wood-and-string apparatus: a ragged parabola for the event, a disc for the object, descending label tiers, and strings that drop away at every step and never return.

He built it because the argument does not land as an argument. Students had to hold it. The asymmetry is the teaching: descending loses characteristics permanently; ascending restores only awareness of the loss.
