Angel's Egg
Angel's Egg
nature
Mamoru Oshii and Yoshitaka Amano's almost wordless film: a girl carrying an egg through a drowned city, fossil birds in the rock, and a man with a cross-shaped weapon who tells her a version of the Flood in which the dove never returned.
Included as the wing's reminder that an esoteric work need not be an esoteric system. Nothing here is a correspondence table. Oshii has said the film came out of his own loss of religious faith. It is the most purely mystical object in this corpus and it borrows no vocabulary at all.
rhymes with
sephirahbinah
whyBinah, the vessel that holds what has not hatched — the film is ninety minutes of that image.
