Cultist Simulator
nature
Alexis Kennedy and Weather Factory's card game about founding a cult in the 1920s. Its occultism is entirely invented: the Mansus, a house of many doors reached in dreams; the Hours, powers with names like the Forge of Days and the Sister-and-Witness; a discipline of lore, ecstasy and dread.

⭐⭐ THE COUNTER-EXAMPLE THE WHOLE WING NEEDS, AND IT IS ONE OF THE BEST-WRITTEN ESOTERIC WORKS OF THE CENTURY. Kennedy took nothing and produced something that feels older and stranger than most of the material that was borrowed wholesale. Which raises the question this room ought to ask out loud and does: if invention works this well, what exactly was the borrowing for? The honest answer is usually not authenticity. It is the feeling of authenticity — and that can be built.
