Final Fantasy VII
FFVII
nature
The most famous villain in the history of Japanese role-playing games is called Sephiroth — which is not a name. It is the Hebrew plural of sephirah, and it means the ten emanations themselves.
⭐ The best single teaching case in the wing, because the error is so complete and so harmless. Naming a man "Sephiroth" is roughly like naming him "Commandments" or "Virtues" — it is a plural noun for a whole system, worn as a personal name. And it has worked so well that for a very large number of English speakers under fifty, the primary meaning of the word is a silver-haired swordsman. When somebody meets the sephirot for real later, they are meeting them second.
