The Holy Mountain

The Holy Mountain
nature
Jodorowsky's film. A thief is taken up a tower by an alchemist, joins seven industrialists named for the planets, and climbs a mountain to displace the immortals at the top — who turn out to be dummies.

The most complete piece of ceremonial-occult cinema ever financed, and one that ends by breaking its own frame: the camera pulls back, the crew is revealed, and the film tells its audience to leave. ⭐ The ending is the same move Krishnamurti made in 1929 — an initiatic structure that dissolves itself at the summit and sends you out — and it is worth noticing that both of this bench's finest moments are refusals.
