Megami Tensei & Persona

Megami Tensei
nature
Atlus's long-running series, in which the demons are drawn from actual grimoires and world mythologies, YHVH appears as an antagonist, and the Qliphoth and the sephirot both turn up as architecture.

The series that treats a comparative-religion reference shelf as a bestiary — and does it with unusual care about names and attributes. ⚠ It is also where a large fraction of players first meet the word Qliphoth: in the Kabbalah the kelipot are the husks or shells that conceal the sparks, and the Zohar grades them, with one — kelipat nogah, the glowing shell — being the ordinary ambivalent stuff of life that can go either way. Almost nothing in games preserves that last part. The shells become simply the evil tree.

whyGevurah, severity — the side of the Tree these games spend nearly all their time on, which is itself a finding about what travels.
