THE ATLAS OF THE POLISHED MIRROR
Dhikr · remembrance
dhikr
nature
The repeated invocation of God's Name — aloud or silent, alone or in a circle, often timed to the breath and sometimes to a movement of the head or body — until the remembering runs by itself and the rememberer stops being the one doing it.
The probable wire, and the app's own practice next door. Abulafia's tzeruf is rhythmic vocalisation of Names synchronised to the breath, with head movements shaped by the vowel-points, written in the century and the region where this was being done in every town. And the Hebrew word for remembrance, zekhirah, is the same idea in the same grammar.
