THE ATLAS OF THE POLISHED MIRROR

Ḥikmat al-Ishrāq · The Philosophy of Illumination

the Ḥikmat al-Ishrāq
nature
A metaphysics in which light is the primary reality and everything else is described by how much of it a thing has: lights of lights, managing lights, dark barriers, and a hierarchy in which each level is lit by and veils the one above it.

The nearest thing outside Judaism to the Zohar's native grammar, written four years before its author was executed and a century before the Zohar appeared. Convergence, and a startling one.

Tehiru is a walk-in model of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and its kindred ways — built to be explored, not read. This page is a still frame of one node; the app is where it moves.
