THE ATLAS OF THE POLISHED MIRROR

Samāʿ · the turning

the turning
nature
The Mevlevi ceremony: each dervish rotates on his own axis and orbits the hall, planets around a sun, right palm open upward to receive and left turned down to give — a conduit that keeps nothing. Rūmī's claim is that everything in existence is already circling its source, and the dervish is merely consenting.

Motion, not architecture — stop the model and there is nothing to look at, and that is the doctrine. Judaism circles too: seven hakafot around the bimah with the Torah, seven around Jericho, the bride around the groom. Two traditions letting the body say return before any doctrine has spoken.

Tehiru is a walk-in model of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and its kindred ways — built to be explored, not read. This page is a still frame of one node; the app is where it moves.
