THE ATLAS OF THE UNCARVED BLOCK

Wang Bi

Wang Bi
nature
A philosophical prodigy dead at twenty-three, whose commentaries on the Daodejing and the Yijing became the standard by which both were read for a thousand years. He read the Way through wu — nothingness, non-being — as the ground of all being.

The greatest interpreter of the two core texts; the lens most later readers actually looked through, and the clearest bridge to the Ayin/nothingness rhyme.

whyWang Bi's "root of being is non-being" is the door's deepest chord with Ayin, the divine Nothing — set at Binah, the understanding that gives the nothing its first form.
