THE ATLAS OF THE UNCARVED BLOCK
Yijing · the Book of Changes
the Yijing
nature
An oracle older than Taoism and adopted by it: sixty-four hexagrams, each six lines that are broken (yin) or solid (yang). Two marks, six places, and the whole field of change unfolds — and each hexagram shades into the next as one line turns.
The binary cosmos at the heart of the door — the rhyme with the Sefer Yetzirah's 231 gates, a world spelled from a tiny alphabet of marks.
