In Austria and Germany, Guido von List and Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels took the root-race scheme, dropped the universal brotherhood, and produced Ariosophy — an explicitly racial occultism which fed into the völkisch milieu from which National Socialism drew.

The reason the previous node cannot be softened. ⚠ And the reason it cannot be simplified either: the standard scholarly account here is Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke's The Occult Roots of Nazism, and its actual finding is more careful than the internet version — the occult influence was real, and it was not the cause of anything, and Blavatsky is an ancestor of Ariosophy rather than its author. A bench that made this a straight line would be as unserious as one that denied the connection.
