Chapter 1 is the seed of all Jewish mysticism: the storm-wind, the four-faced chayot (man, lion, ox, eagle), wheels within wheels full of eyes, the crystal firmament, and upon the throne "a likeness as the appearance of a man" — the vision every Merkavah rider rode toward and the Mishnah locked behind its strictest warning. Also the valley of dry bones (resurrection's storyboard) and the measured future Temple.
