The Huayan school's image for how everything holds everything: in the palace of Indra hangs a net stretching infinitely in all directions, and at every knot a jewel — and each jewel reflects every other jewel, including all the reflections in them, without end. No jewel is the source. Remove one and the whole net changes, because each was only ever the meeting-place of all the others. This is the door's deepest genuine rhyme, and it is structural rather than poetic. The Kabbalah teaches that each sefirah contains all ten — Chesed has its own Gevurah, Malkhut its own Keter, and the ten-within-ten repeats without limit, which is how the tradition gets four hundred faces out of ten names. Two traditions, no contact, both refusing to let the parts sit separately from the whole. The one difference that matters: the Kabbalah's net hangs from somewhere.
