Daniel Matt

Translator of the Pritzker Zohar (12 volumes, 2004–2017; completed with Nathan Wolski and Joel Hecker): eighteen years reconstructing a critical Aramaic text from manuscripts and rendering it in English poetry with a commentary that is itself a course in Kabbalah. The single greatest act of Zohar-transmission since the first printing — the reason anglophones can now walk the whole text.
