The Rose Cross lamen · and the Rose of 22 petals

The Order's emblem: a cross with a rose at the crossing, elements and planets on the arms, the pentagram and hexagram, and the letters of I.N.R.I. and L.V.X.

And here the app owes the Order some credit, because the criticism is worthless without it. The rose has twenty-two petals in three rings — 3, 7 and 12 — and that is the Sefer Yetzirah's own division of the alphabet: three mother letters, seven doubles, twelve simples. They read it correctly, and they drew it beautifully. The Rose of 22 petals is a genuinely good piece of thinking and this app has used it as a tool for years.

What is theirs rather than the tradition's is the rose and the cross themselves — Rosicrucian and Christian emblems with no Jewish source, load-bearing here in a way they never were in Safed. The shape is the Order's; the contents are not.
