The Pauper at the Door. Dalet is dal — poor — and proud of it: she owns nothing, so every gift passes through her without sticking. She is the door that never pretends to be the house. Quiet dignity; hollow enough to be a passage.

Dalet declined to argue for herself at all; with her begins Din, judgment, and also Dalut, poverty — and she would not have the world stand on either alone. So she was set between Wisdom and Understanding, the door insight passes through to become form.
