Insan al-Kamil · the Perfect Human

The capstone of Ibn Arabi's system: creation is a mirror God polishes in order to see His own Names displayed, and the Perfect Human is the mirror's finished face — the one being in whom all the Names show at once, the isthmus joining Essence and cosmos. Each prophet realized it; Muhammad realized it completely; the saint's path is its recovery. The Kabbalah's twin is Adam Kadmon, the primordial human form through which the Ein Sof's light first shaped itself — the body whose limbs are the sephirot, of which every human body is the diagram. Both traditions dare the same enormous sentence: the human form is not in the cosmos; the cosmos is in the human form.
