The Theology of Aristotle

The other great misattribution, and the actual pipeline: an Arabic paraphrase of Enneads IV–VI, produced in al-Kindi's circle and circulated as Aristotle's own theology. Through it, Plotinus — unnamed — entered Islamic and Jewish philosophy wholesale. This is the specific channel by which the emanation scheme reached Isaac Israeli, Ibn Gabirol and the Andalusian Jewish world, and from there the milieu in which Kabbalah surfaced. When the Tree is called Neoplatonic, this book is a large part of what is meant.
