The Enneads

Fifty-four treatises in six sets of nine. The architecture: the One, beyond being and beyond knowing, of which nothing may truly be said — not even "one"; from it, without diminishment and without will or effort, overflows Nous, the Divine Intellect, where the forms are thought in a single act; from Nous, Psyche, Soul, which alone moves and reasons and orders; and from Soul, nature and this world. The overflow costs the source nothing, as light costs the sun nothing. Every element of that sentence reappears in Kabbalistic Hebrew.
