nature
Four ages descending from the golden Kṛta to our own Kali, each shorter and more degraded, and then the whole cycle begins again — nested inside larger cycles, inside a day of Brahmā, without beginning or end. Time here does not go anywhere; it turns. Judaism's arc runs the other way, from a creation to a redemption, in a line — which is one of the more consequential differences between the two civilisations. But the Kabbalah has its own great wheel, and this app already walks it: the doctrine of shemittot, cosmic sabbatical cycles of world after world, each seven thousand years, the boldest cyclical speculation Jewish mysticism produced — and one its own authorities grew nervous about, for exactly the reason you would expect.

Tehiru is a walk-in model of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and its kindred ways — built to be explored, not read. This page is a still frame of one node; the app is where it moves.
