Vav

The Connector. Vav is a single vertical stroke — a nail, a hook, a man standing very straight. Grammatically he means "and"; temperamentally he IS "and". He cannot bear for two things to remain unjoined, and he can flip time itself (the vav-conversive turns past to future).

Vav argued he begins no bad words at all, being mostly the word "and". True, said the Holy One, and that is why you belong inside the Name itself — the six, the body, the joining. Some appointments are quieter than creation.
