Shemen ha-Mishchahשמן המשחה

The holy anointing oil of Exodus 30 — myrrh, cinnamon, cassia, olive — by which priests and kings were made. Mashiach means simply "the anointed one": the oil IS the office. Read inwardly by the tradition's mystics, anointing is the descent of shefa onto the head — and its conservation and raising back up the Middle Pillar is the priestly work performed in the body's own temple.
