Tiferetתפארת

The heart of the Tree. Tiferet is what happens when mercy and severity marry: compassion — rachamim — the truth that includes both. It is the center of the six-fold partzuf Ze'ir Anpin, the "Holy One blessed be He" of the Zohar's drama, the bridegroom whose whole story is the quest to reunite with the Shekhinah below. Six paths meet here; the whole Tree balances on this point like a body on its heart.

The Zohar names Tiferet simply "the Holy One": the protagonist of scripture, the voice of the middle pillar, the sun whose light the moon (Malkhut) longs to receive.
