nature
Shneur Zalman of Liadi's handbook of Chabad Hasidism: Kabbalah turned fully inward — two souls contending in every person, the mind taught to rule the heart, tzimtzum read as concealment rather than absence, and the beinoni as the rank an ordinary person is told to aim at. Lurianic cosmology as cognitive practice; arguably the most influential Jewish mystical psychology ever written.
⚠ This node used to say the beinoni "never sins in deed." That was wrong, and wrong in the direction that makes the book sound easy. Tanya ch. 12 counts three garments — thought, speech and act — and in the beinoni the animal soul wears none of them. Corrected 2026-08-06 by reading the chapter. See beinoni and three-garments.
⚠ And it is one paragraph about a book in five parts, four of which were missing from this house until APPENDIX LI — see tanya-five-parts.
