Enki (Akkadian Ea) is the Mesopotamian god of the fresh water under the earth, of craft, of cunning and of secret knowledge โ€” and, crucially, the god who warns the flood hero against a decision the divine council has already taken. That is one thread of a documented, mainstream channel from Mesopotamia into Genesis: the Enuma Elish beside Genesis 1 with its tehom and Tiamat and the dividing of the waters; Atrahasis and the eleventh tablet of Gilgamesh beside Noah, with the boat, the birds sent out and the sacrifice at the end; the four rivers, the apsu, the serpent, the tree, and the plant of life stolen by a snake.

When that wing is built it will stand on the forebears' bench, and it will rest on that โ€” the texts, the tablets and the dates โ€” and not on the serpents. The serpents are a magnificent room inside the house. They are not the foundation, and a wing built on them would not bear weight.

Tehiru is a walk-in model of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and its kindred ways โ€” built to be explored, not read. This page is a still frame of one node; the app is where it moves.
