Syzygy · nothing stands alone

From συζυγία, "yoked together." In the Valentinian fullness every aeon exists as half of a pair, and the pairing is not decoration — it is the condition of stability. An aeon in its syzygy can receive from the Depth without being destroyed by it, because it is held. Break the pairing and you have an aeon reaching alone for something it cannot survive touching. The Kabbalah runs the same grammar as zivug, the union of the divine male and female, and treats their separation as the world's wound, not its origin. Both traditions say the same startling thing: the divine is structured as relation, and disaster is what happens when the relation breaks. They then disagree completely about whether that break is repairable — which is the argument this entire wing exists to stage.
