Shekhinahשכינה

The Indwelling: rabbinic term for God's presence, which the Kabbalah dared to make feminine and identify with Malkhut. She is in exile with Israel, weeping at the ruined Temple, wandering; the goal of prayer and Sabbath is "the union of the Holy One and His Shekhinah." The boldest theological gesture of the Zohar.
